As you use the I Spy Trail while out and about, it encourage your child to observe their surroundings, sparking conversation about what they might see & hear.

It's a simple but engaging way to start talking about staying safe near roads - laying the foundation for confident, aware, independent children.

A Bit About Ride On Time

As a result of observing hundreds of under 5's playing with their toy vehicles and role play road it became clear there was a deeper hidden benefit to Ride On Time's work. Children were learning and gaining an understanding of roads and the environment around them through play. Beginning to understand road layout, signs and what they meant and traffic lights. It was also clear there was a real lack of provision for this to be taught to early years children.

Motivated to make a difference, Tracey & Justin began researching and developing an engaging and age appropriate road safety workshop for early years children. The response was overwhelmingly positive and started to take their interactive workshop into pre schools and nurseries. It was recieved with fantastic feedback from educators, parents and most importantly the children themselves.

The programme has since recieved funding from Active Oxfordshire & Oxfordshire County Council helping them bring this vital life skill to even more children across the region. With experience working with over 10,000, Tracey & Justin now have deep insight into how young children learn about road safety - and how this playful, engaging approach can genuinely help save lives.
